Bulgarian brigadier-general Stoayn Genkov would be the new NATO chief of staff in Skopje, a press statement from President's press office said.
Until now brigadier-general Genkov was an assistant chief of staff in the Bulgarian Army. He was trained at the Army academy G.S. Rakovski and has been brigadier-general since 2003.
The announcement of a NATO staff commander in Tirana would be expected within the next few weeks, Dnevnik daily said.
