Bulgaria’s best swimmer Mihail Aleksandrov did not make it to the 200m swimming finals round of the European championship in Budapest.

Aleksandrov finished fourth in his qualification group, crossing the finish in 2:02,80 minutes, BGNES Sport agency reported.

In the second qualification group six swimmers achieved better time than the Bulgarian competitor, who remained 10th in the ranking.

Though Aleksandrov improved his performance from the semi-finals round he failed ranking among the first eight, who would continue to the final stage of the competition, BGNES reported.

Italian competitor Alessio Boggiatto finished first in Aleksandrov’s group. The leader in the second qualification group was Hungary’s Laslo Cseh, who is expected to win the title.
