Employers should invest in the provision of safe work environment, according to a proposal of social policy and labour parliamentary committee head Hasan Ademov.
Preferential treatment is suggested for employers importing work facilities from abroad, mediapool.bg reported. Such preferences need to be co-ordinated with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) first and listed in taxation regulations, Ademov said.
Since 1997 employers invested 90 million leva in improving work environment, said Ademov.
Bulgaria accepted the EU engagement to create a national strategy for safe working conditions. The Social Policy and Labour Ministry and the General Labour Inspectorate will be responsible for the strategy creation and implementation.
