Bulgaria will be able to save four million euro from its contribution to the EU budget this year, European Commission said.
Nearly 960 million euro were saved from EU’s budget for 2006, totaling 107.4 billion euro, Bulgarian National Radio reported.
Counting other financial resources, the entire saves sum totals 1.848 billion euro.
This surplus will be allocated to EU budget 2007. The extra amount enables EU member states save some of the money they had to allocate to the common European budget.
Contribution decrease is calculated based on the country’s share in the EU GDP, EC said.
Germany, the UK, France and Italy will be able to save the highest amounts, EC said.
