Bulgaria is going to have role in the talks between Russia and the US on the positioning of an anti-missile shield throughout Europe, Defence Minister Vesselin Bliznakov said.
Bliznakov said that he will take part in talks with US president George W. Bush during his visit to Bulgaria on June 10 and 11.
The country is already playing the role of stabilising factor on the Balkans and in Europe, Bliznakov said.
National security is also expected to feature among the topics of discussion during Bushs stay in Bulgaria.
Bulgaria and the US still have to sign nine agreements before the arrival of the first American troops to make use of military bases in the country. US troops will undergo training in Bulgaria after an agreement was signed in the summer of 2006.
