A tender for the engineering company to carry out Nabucco gas pipeline pro will be launched in April 2007, Bulgarias national gas supplier Bulgargaz said.
Nabucco pipeline will transport natural gas from Iran and Azerbaijan to Central Europe, Intellinews, edition of American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria, said.
Other countries, such as Egypt, Kazakhstan and Iraq, could also provide gas for the pipeline.
Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and Austria are involved in the pipeline construction. It will be 3300km long and 400km of the pipeline will be located in Bulgaria. The cost of the project will probably reach 4.5 billion euro.
Nabucco pipelines transit capacity will be 25.5 billion cubic m per year.
Construction of the pipeline is expected to begin in 2008 and to end in 2011.
European Union (EU) supported the pipeline as an alternative to the Russian energy monopoly, Intellinews said.
