During the next NATO summit Bulgaria had to support the proposal for key energy infrastructure protection to be included in the new NATO security tasks, Dnevnik daily said.
The summit will be held in Latvia's capital of Riga on November 28 and 29 2006.
Energy infrastructure was the probable new goal of terrorist organisations, Dnevnik said.
Among the main topics of the Riga summit are NATO membership applications of Albania, Croatia and Macedonia and the accession of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro in the Partnership for Peace initiative.
NATO integration was an effective way of sustaining political reforms in Central and Eastern European countries, Dnevnik said.
Strengthening of the security and stability in Southeastern Europe was of key interest to Bulgaria, said the report.
