Bulgaria's EU accession on January 1 2007 had to be celebrated with dignity and in good mood, Prime Minister Sergei Stanishev said.
“We have to celebrate January 1 with the self-confidence of people that could contribute to the EU success,” Stanishev said as quoted by Darik Radio.
A number of information campaigns would be held during the celebrations so that Bulgaria could be more prepared for EU accession, Stanishev also said.
An impressive light show would be held in Sofia on December 31 2006, Darik reported.
National Assembly spokesperson Georgi Pirinski said that Bulgarians should meet the EU accession neither too euphoric, nor with exaggerated pessimism.
