Bulgaria's Cabinet approved the Council of Europe Convention on Action Against Trafficking in Human Beings, Bulgarian news agency BTA reported.
The convention was released for approval on May 16 2005. It is an international document that aims to make governments aware of human trafficking in Europe. The convention is directed at protection of trafficking victims, BTA said.
Bulgaria's Justice Minister Georgi Petkanov would sign the convention during the 27th Conference of European Ministers of Justice, BTA said. The conference would be held in Yerevan on October 11 and 12 2006.
The convention would be applied in cases of any type of exploitation of children, women or men.
Analysis of the convention showed that Bulgarian laws corresponded to the European standards in that field, a Council of Ministers' press release said.
