The State Agency for Information Technology and Communications (SAITC) will co-ordinate Bulgaria's participation in the international Safe Internet Day 2007 initiative.
To commemorate the day two European projects, Insafe and eTwinning, joined the initiative.
All Bulgarian organisations willing to take part in the competition can do so. The aim of the initiative is to convey the message that internet should be made safe for children.
Seven Bulgarian organisations are already willing to join the initiative.
Participants will work on three topics among which netiquette, e-privacy and the power of image. Competitors from EU countries, Norway and Iceland will present their views on one of the topics in the form of a visual, a multi-media presentation, a website, an essay or a seminar.
The award pool totals 12 000 euro and will be distributed among the winners in the three categories and the creators of the most innovative project.
More information concerning the competition can be found at www.saferinternet.org.
Safe Internet Day will be commemorated for the fourth time. Bulgaria was invited to take part in the initiative for the first time in 2005.
