Macedonia was preparing efficiently for NATO membership, head of the Bulgarian parliamentary foreign policy committee Solomon Passi said.
On November 7 Passi met Macedonian defence minister Lazar Elenkovski, Focus news agency reported.
The professionalisation of the Macedonian army was among the main accomplishments, said Passi. The country surpassed Bulgarian developments in that sphere, said he.
Passi said that he hoped Macedonia would receive an invitation to join the alliance during the NATO summit in Riga.
Diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Macedonia were good and were going to continue evolving, said he.
Elenovski said that his meeting with Passi was useful. Passi had global view of events and often served as an example for younger politicians, said Elenovski.
