Bulgarian marathon swimmer Petar Soychev has won the FINA Marathon Swimming World Cup, swimnews.com said, as quoted by Focus news agency.
Stoychev did not finish among the first three swimmers in the 19th round of the series held in Setubal, Portugal.
His result in the last one was of no significance, because as early as October 1, he had already collected enough points to win the trophy.
It was Stoychev’s sixth successive world cup, swimnews.com said.
Egypt’s Mohamed El Zanaty and France’s Stephane Gomez were second and third after Stoychev.
