BULGARIA'S RHODOPE AND PIRIN MOUNTAINS HAVE INVESTMENT POTENTIAL
01:00 Mon 30 Jan 2006

The Rhodope and Pirin mountains are the two places in Bulgaria with highest potential for the development of ski resorts and winter tourism, UK newspaper The Guardian reports. The winter season in these mountains is longest and the conditions for winter sports are good, the paper said. Property prices there vary between 26 000 and 60 000 British pounds. This sum is half that of property price in the Alps, Dnevnik newspaper reported.
Opportunities for investment in Black Sea property in Bulgaria are beginning to run out, The Guardian said. Most of the resorts are already crowded and the summer season is rather short. Smaller villages along the coastline still present some interesting opportunities. The paper warned investors to be careful in choosing resorts and real estate agents in Bulgaria. Corruption is still widespread and might affect investors, the paper said. Bulgaria attracts investors through its low prices, resort diversity, beautiful nature and upcoming EU membership.
