Prosecutor-General Boris Velchev plans to introduce stricter control in Bulgarias Prosecution.
Velchev criticised the administrative heads in the institution for the weak control, omissions in the work of regional prosecutors and violation of professional ethics, mediapool.bg reported.
Criticism was provoked by several cases of corruption revealed over the past couple of weeks.
Velchev required detailed reports on all suspended trials and cases of prosecutor inaction. The reports should be ready in two weeks.
As part of the reforms in the Prosecution on April 18 2007 the institution approved a reform action plan valid until 2009, mediapool.bg said.
According to the plan ethical commissions will be created as part of the appellative and the supreme prosecutions in the country.
