The Supreme Prosecution of Cassation is taking court action against former Sofia regional prosecutor Slavcho Kurzhev, Darik Radio said.
The prosecutors office alleges that Kurzhev pre-determined the outcome of some trials by threatening his subordinate prosecutors.
An investigation by Bulgaria's Supreme Prosecution of Cassation (SPC) inspectorate showed that Sofia regional prosecution had intervened, without good reason and in an unlawful way, in a wide range of areas.
Five prosecutors had abandoned trials even when there had been sufficient evidence to secure a conviction.
The SPC inspectorate would examine all the trials in the past five years in which three of the prosecutors had been involved, Darik said.
