BULGARIA'S PROSECUTION PRESENTS CHARGES AGAINST HIGH-LEVEL OFFICIALS
13:09 Fri 03 Nov 2006

Bulgaria's Prosecutor-General Boris Velchev said that he would announce next week charges in major trials that the Prosecution and the Interior Ministry worked on together.

Velchev would also provide information on criminals with more that two pending trials.

Most work that the Interior Ministry had to do in the join operation was already completed, Velchev said. Still, work on some trials was delayed, Velchev told Darik Radio.

It was more important for the investigation to be done properly, than for the cases to be presented in court quickly.

Major trials that the Prosecution and the Interior Ministry work on referred to various issues but non of great public interest, Velchev said.
