An initiative committee submitted to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) the documents for the nomination of President Georgi Parvanov for second mandate, Bulgaria news agency (BTA) reported.
Current vice president Angel Marin was also nominated for another term in office.
The initiative committee's head, Culture Minister Stefan Danailov, said that 115 initiative committees from all over the country supported Parvanov's nomination so far.
Purvanov's campaign headquarters did not underestimate the other candidates, Danailov said. The President, who used to be Bulgarian Socialist Party leader, counted on the support of all parties' followers, Danailov said.
