Bulgaria's national debt and state guaranteed debt in the end of February totaled 5.86 billion euro, of which 1.47 billion euro are domestic debt and 4.39 billion euro represent the foreign debt.
The nominal value of the state debt went down by nearly 339 million euro as compared to figures for January. The decrease resulted mainly from the payments on the debt made in February, Finance Ministry said as quoted by Focus news agency.
In the end of the period the state debt equaled 22.4 per cent of the country's GDP which is a 1.3 per cent decrease compared to January. The foreign debt formed 16.8 per cent and the domestic debt 5.6 per cent of the GDP.
The debt structure consisted of 25.1 per cent domestic debt and 74.9 per cent foreign debt.
The Finance Ministry launched two tenders for the sale of state bonds on the local market in February. Orders worth 65 million leva were approved.
