BULGARIA'S ECONOMIC GROWTH TO REACH 5.8 PER CENT IN 2007
17:10 Fri 13 Oct 2006

Bulgaria's budget 2007 highlighted a foreseen 5.8 per cent economic growth, Finance Minister Plamen Oresharski said, as quoted by Darik radio.

Investments in Bulgaria would increase by 13 per cent, he said. Inflation is expected to be 3.1 per cent.

Budget 2007 would provide an “active social and more aggressive tax policy”, Oresharski said.

The demographic situation was a key problem for the 2007 budget.

Bulgaria's expenses connected to the country's EU accession will be nearly 630 million leva, according to Oresharski. EU funding will be used to offset these expenses.
