
Albena Denkova and Maxim Staviski won for the second time in their career the world champions title.
Denkova and Staviski defeated competing ice dancing couples in the World Figure Skating Championship in Japan’s Tokyo.
The Bulgarians took the lead after the second phase of the competition, the original dance. They increased the score difference through the free programme, Focus Sport agency reported.
The score of 201.61 points gave them lead over Canadians Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon. The Canadians took the silver scoring 200.46 points.
Denkova and Staviski won their first world champions title in the past year during the competition in Calgary, Canada.
