On November 12 Bulgarian Culture Minister Stefan Danailov arrived for a work visit in Austria, a media statement by the Culture Ministry said.
On November 13 Danailov would open the “Fire and spirit – 1000 years Bulgarian icons” exhibition at the Bishop's Palace in Vienna. The ceremony would be attended by doctor Egon Kapellari, bishop of Graz-Seckau and deputy chairman and adviser on cultural issues of the Austrian Bishop's Conference.
After the exhibition opening, Danailov would present doctor Bernhard Böler, director of the Cathedral Museum in Vienna and Nikola Hadjiev, director of the National Church Museum of History and Archaeology in Sofia with the Golden Century award of Bulgaria's Culture Ministry for their contributions to the development of relations between Bulgarian and Austrian culture.
Danailov would donate one thousand euro to the St Ivan Rilski Bulgarian Orthodox Church Community in Vienna for the construction of a Bulgarian orthodox church in the Austrian capital. The donation would be given to priest Ivan Petkin.
Earlier on November 13 Danailov would meet Claudia Schmied, Austrian minister for education, arts and culture.
Danailov's programme included a meeting with Austrian and Bulgarian artists, on November 12 at the exhibition halls of Wittgenstein House, the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Vienna.
On November 14 Bulgaria's Culture Minister would meet the personnel of the Wittgenstein House.
