In five matches for UK's Tottenham Hotspurs in the new season, Bulgarian national football player Dimitar Berbatov only scored one goal.
This is the same result as last year when the Spurs made a disappointing start with four points from six games, Daily Telegraph reported.
The newspaper quoted Spurs manager Martin Jol as saying Berbatov was a ''slow starter''. "It isn't a problem if the other ones score - midfield players or defenders - and we've had that this season", Jol added.
The match between Cypriot football team Anorthosis and Tottenham Hotspurs on September 20 would be a chance for the Spurs to set things right, the newspaper said.
"It is very simple," Jol said. "If you win games you always feel better. We have to come up with the goods. Having said that, the spirit is still very good, and if that's the case, and the commitment is there, then there's no problem. The only thing we have to do now is win games", Jol said.
