10:03 Mon 24 Sep 2007

Bulgarian resort Bansko has begun work on a five million euro retail development, Mall Bansko. The new shopping mall is being built at the lower station of the gondola lift and Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena, skirebel.com reports.

Mall Bansko would contain everything under one roof ranging from bank services, to specialised sports equipment and restaurants and bars, the website said.

Telecom services provider Nexcom Bulgaria has announced the launch of a WiMAX broadband wireless internet service in Bansko.

The resort would become the first Bulgarian town where the internet can be accessed from any point within the town. The service would be extended towards the villages of Razlog, Dobrinishte and Banya with the ultimate aim to covering the entire Valley of upper Mesta River with a wireless network, the website reports.
