Former national football team player Krasimir Balukov will be the new coach of German club Hertha.
Balukov will prefer the German team over guiding Bulgaria’s national team, Tages Anzeiger reported.
Bulgarian media reported that Balukov had been offered the position at the national team but preferred to continue working abroad.
The selection of new national team coach was needed after Hristo Stoichkov decided to quit the position and start working for the Spanish Celta.
After Stoichkov quit, Levski football club coach Stanimir Stoilov agreed to lead the national team in the upcoming Euro 2008 qualifications against Belarus.
Stoilov will be coach of the team only for these two matches after which he will return to Levski. The search for a permanent coach is still ongoing.
