Deputy Interior Minister Roumen Andreev presented Bulgaria's efforts in the fight against terrorism during an international conference on the problems of democracy and global security held in Istanbul.
Bulgarian government introduces complex measures to fight organised crime and terrorism in view of the country's EU and NATO membership, Andreev said as quoted by Bulgarian National Radio.
Bulgarian services for combating terrorism regularly meet representatives of similar foreign structures to exchange information and co-operate in the sphere.
Regional co-operation is an important factor in reaching success, Andreev said.
An example for good co-operation was the meeting of Southeast European ministers held on May 18, 2006 in Varna, when participants agreed on a joint partnership declaration.
