The healthcare budget for 2007 would reach 4.35 per cent of the GDP, Health Minister Radoslav Gaidarski said.
Bulgaria expected additional resources from the EU funds, said Gaidarski as quoted by Focus news agency.
The Health, Labour and Social Policy and Education ministries were in need of most financial resources, said Gaidarski. As a result they were not going to allocate 0.1 or 0.2 per cent of their budgets for the co-funding of projects, said he.
It was possible to find additional financial resources for healthcare developments in 2007, said Gaidarski. Additional funds could be obtained through the sale of hospital property and could reach up to 100 million leva, said he.
KNSB labour union previously said that the funds for healthcare were insufficient and should reach at least five per cent of the GDP.
