For the third year in a row, Denmark is the most networked economy in the world, followed by Sweden and Switzerland, according to the latest edition of the Global Information Technology Report, published by the World Economic Forum.
The report has Bulgaria and Romania feature half-down the Networked Readiness Index (NRI) ranking, which includes 127 countries from around the world.

The NRI assess the presence of an ICT-friendly and conductive environment, the level of ICT-readiness, preparation to use ICT and the actual use of ICT by individuals, businesses and the government.

In the NRI list, Bulgaria ranked 68, just ahead of Columbia, the Ukraine and Kazahstan, and just behind Azerbaijan, El Salvador and Uruguay.
Romania ranked 61, ahead of Poland, Egypt and Panama.

Greece ranked 56, Turkey 55.

The theme for this year's report was Fostering Innovation through Networked Readiness. The report focuses on the role of networked readiness in spurring innovation.

Besides the NRI ranking the report contains a number articles on the link between innovation and ICT, recent trends in innovation and e-skills and telecommunications regulation in emerging markets.
