BULGARIA RANKS 14TH IN UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUALIFIERS

Bulgaria ranked 14th in the European tournaments after the second round of UEFA Champions League qualifiers on August 16 2007.
The country collected 21.541 points, Focus news agency reported. So far, Bulgarian teams have won 1.125 points for the national coefficient.

Levski fell out of the competition after two losses to Finnish Tampere, and in contrast to previous seasons it failed to improve Bulgaria's score.

In the rankings behind Bulgaria are the Czech Republic with 21.125 points, Switzerland, 18.975 points, Norway, 18.925 points and Greece, 18.831 points.

If Bulgaria remains in top 15, it will have the right to send two representatives to the Champions League in the summer of 2009.

The current leader in the European tournaments is Spain, with 62.516 points followed by the UK, 58.999 and Italy, with 51.472 points.
