Bulgaria’s candidacy for Winter Olympics host in 2014 was officially announced. All needed documentation has been sent on January 28 to the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
On February 1 the Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC) will present the financial parameters of the decision, the Bulgarian National Radio reported.
A special work group of the IOC will evaluate all candidates. Only three or four countries will be selected for the second round of the process. The final selection will be announced in June.
The BOC also selected the logo, which will represent Sofia’s application. Sofia 2014 is the work of artist Georgi Yankov, selected among 120 other projects.
