The number of new cars sold in Bulgaria in the first seven months of the year rose 18.2 per cent to 32 884 units, data of the local association of automobile manufacturers and their authorised dealers in Bulgaria.
The combined market for cars, trucks and buses added 20.8 per cent year-on-year to 35 495 units. The figure only takes into account the data of the companies that are part of the association, which several smaller dealers are not.
Sales of cars, trucks and buses in July alone increased to 5306 units versus 5167 units a month earlier. The year-on-year increase for the month was 19 per cent.
Opel was top-selling auto brand over the review period with 3644 units and a market share of 11.1 per cent.
The year-ago leader Toyota slipped to the runner-up position with 9.8 per cent. Volkswagen, Ford, Peugeot and Dacia round off the top six.
Sales of trucks and buses jumped 66 per cent year-on-year to 2651 through July. Iveco topped the segment with 923 sales of trucks and buses.
