On April 4 2007 Bulgaria marks three years since the traffic accident in the border region between Serbia and Montenegro that caused the death of 12 children.
All of the victims were students from Svishtov, who were on a trip. The bus they were traveling in fell into Lim River, causing the death of the 12 students.
Local people took part in the rescue operation and managed to save 22 of the passengers.
On March 9 2006 the Veliko Turnovo Regional Court gave the driver of the bus a seven-year prison sentence.
The Veliko Turnovo Court of Appeal decided on November 6 2006 to decrease the sentence to four years, Darik Radio reported.
