The Bulgarian state administration ministry has signed five contracts for the procurement of computer equipment and development of information systems as part of an e-government initiative. The combined value of the contracts is 3.7 million leva, according to Dnevnik Daily.
Resources will be allocated to projects that are related to creating regional e-governments, and to regional projects of the National Health Insurance Fund. The government spent 11 million leva on the initiative in 2006, and has budgeted 14 million leva for this year.
Under one the procurement contracts awarded on July 24, IBS Bulgaria will supply 1 200 Lenovo PCs and 100 Lenovo laptops to municipal administrations, regional governments and the judiciary.
