Citizens of EU member countries would need only their ID and passport to enter and stay in Bulgaria for up to three months, Bulgarian news agency BTA reported.
Bulgaria's parliament approved the law on second reading which makes it official.
The law would be in force from the date when Bulgaria's EU accession treaty became effective, BTA said.
The Council of Ministers would define the conditions under which a relative of an EU citizen could enter Bulgaria. In some cases such person might need a visa.
No taxes would be collected for visa issuing, BTA said.
EU citizens could lose their right to enter and stay in Bulgaria if they endangered national security, civil order or health, BTA said.
