Bulgaria had four options for participation in the UN peacekeeping operations in Southern Lebanon.
A final decision would be taken after talks with UN and EU representatives, Darik Radio reported.
Bulgaria's infantry was ready to sent a group of 30 soldiers, as well as reconnaissance unit.
One of the options involves the sending of 50 soldiers, to be positioned close to the Lebanese-Israeli border. The Bulgarians would be responsible for the protection of humanitarian aid, the local population and the passage of VIP personnel, Darik reported.
Bulgaria could also send a medical team including a surgeon, an anesthesiologist, a traumatologist and two nurses.
The sending of humanitarian aid only is the third option. In case Bulgaria chooses the option, the value of its contribution would reach 100 000 euro.
If the UN operation is in need of marine maintenance, Bulgaria could send its frigate Druzki, which would end its participation in NATO operations in October, Darik reported.
