Bulgaria strongly criticised the terrorist act in Jerusalem, in which eight students aged 15 to 26 were killed by a Palestinian gunman at a Jewish religious school in Jerusalem on March 6. Tens more were injured.
"We categorically condemn any attempts upon human life and the right to a secure and peaceful existence and give our sincere and deep condolences to the relatives of the dead,” the Foreign ministry said in a statement on its website.
“Violence could not be justified by any goal or ideal and could not propose a way to solve the existing problems and conflicts,” it continued.
The 25-year-old shooter, identified as Ala Hashem Abu Dhaim by the Israeli police, was shot dead by an army officer, BBC reported.
Thousands of people attended the funerals of the murdered on March 7. The Israeli authorities said the attack at the Mercaz Harav seminary would not end the peace talks with the Palestinians.
On March 7 Hamas Islamists claimed responsibility for the shooting, Reuters announced.
