BULGARIA BACKS UP ISRAEL-LEBANON UN RESOLUTION 1701

Bulgaria supported the UN Security Council resolution 1701, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Dimitar Tsanchev said.

The resolution calls for complete ceasefire, Israeli pullout from Lebanon and the sending of Lebanese and UN peacekeeping forces to Southern Lebanon.

Both sides should make an effort to fulfill all the measures included in the resolution to achieve stability, security and peace, in the region, Tsanchev said.

Bulgaria was considering the opportunities for helping the region in overcoming the humanitarian crisis, Tsanchev said.
