A new Bulgarian mission, comprised of 120 soldiers and a 35 personnel, will guarantee the security of Ashraf refugee camp in Iraq.
The Cabinet approved an agreement with the US, concerning Bulgaria's new mission, the Bulgarian National Radio reported. The agreement will be presented to the National Assembly for approval.
The new operation would last until March 31 2007. Bulgarian military officials will determine the rotation period.
American commanders will monitor the execution of the mission. The status of Bulgarian soldiers will remain the same as during the previous mission in Diwania.
Washington would cover transportation, logistics and medical supplies expenditure. Foreign Minister Ivailo Kalfin received the official documents from the US embassy in Sofia on February 8.
