Microsoft senior vice president Eric Rudder met Prime Minister Sergei Stanishev to present the company's investment policy for Bulgaria.
Plamen Vachkov, head of the State Agency for Information Technology and Communications (SAITC), and Teodor Milev, head of Microsoft Bulgaria, also attended the meeting.
Rudder said that Microsoft approved the creation of an IT innovations centre in Sofia. Microsoft praises Bulgaria's state economic policies, affecting the IT sector, a Council of Ministers press release said.
During the meeting Stanishev said that IT development was among Bulgaria's priorities. The Cabinet aims at promoting knowledge economy, he added.
Another subject of discussion was co-operation between Bulgaria and Microsoft on the creation of e-government. The state also sought Microsoft’s partnership for the execution of on-line trainings and education projects.
Rudder also met State Administration Minister Nikolai Vassilev to discuss co-operation.
