Interior Minister Roumen Petkov is on an official visit to Macedonia to discuss economic and political relations.
The talks centered around the transport corridor VIII construction, as it is one of the most important regional infrastructure projects, Focus news agency reported.
The Bourgas – Vlora oil pipeline project and energy supplies from Bulgaria were among the other topics of discussion.
During his visit Petkov met speaker of the Macedonian assembly Ljupcho Jordanovski, prime minister Vlado Buckovski and his counterpart Ljubomir Mihajlovski. Petkov promised Bulgaria will give its entire EU negotiations know-how in the home affairs sphere to Macedonia and support it during the pre-accession period.
The Macedonian ambassador in Sofia Abdurahman Aliti said today the diplomatic and economic relations between the countries have been growing strong. Bulgaria and Macedonia co-operate in the spheres of education, science and culture. The Bulgarian cultural centre in Skopje is especially active, Aliti said.
