Bulgaria and Croatia signed on December 11 ann intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in science, education and culture, Bulgarian news agency BTA said.
"Symbolically, with these signatures we only followed up on what has existed between the Bulgarian and the Croatian people for 13 centuries now," Croatian ambassador to Bulgaria Drazen Vukov Colic said in Bulgarian at the signing ceremony.
From the Bulgarian side, the document was signed by Deputy Foreign Minister Lyubomir Kyuchoukov, BTA said.
Colic said he was pleased that the programme envisaged new steps in Bulgarian language studies in Croatia and Croatian language studies in Bulgaria.
According to Kyuchoukov, the cooperation confirmed an active dialogue at all levels between the two countries. He said that Bulgaria and Croatia have common values and goals in foreign policy.
