One billion euro will be the cost to finish highway Hemus.

Regional Development and Public Works Minister Assen Gagaouzov announced in Pleven that funding for recovery and development of the Hemus highway have been agreed with the European Bank (EB).

Gagaouzov said that the EB was a partner in the project and was preparing an analysis for the concession of the highway, Dnevnik daily reported.

Gagaouzov said that he was expecting the EB would be ready before the end of the year with all necessary documents for the selection of the concessionaire.

The construction would be realised as a public-private partnership.

According to the ministry, all projects that have been approved should start construction before 2009.
