A trade delegation of 21 Belgian companies is on a two-day visit to Bulgaria, looking for local partners in various sectors.

The delegation started its visit on October 13 and from October 15 will follow up with a two-day visit to Macedonia.

The Belgian companies are looking for local partners in sectors as diverse as water treatment, construction, metallurgy, industrial equipment, lighting, transport, textile, information technology and the food industry.

The aim for them is to find a representative in Bulgaria and/or create a joint venture. Others are coming to pursue and intensify existing contacts.

The Bulgarian Industrial Association (BIA) is assisting in the visit, and the Belgian companies are meeting representatives of Bulgaria's agriculture ministry, environment and water affairs ministry and Sofia municipality.

The mission has been organised by the Wallonia Foreign Trade and Investment Agency in Sofia (AWEX) in co-operation with the Flanders Investment and Trade (FIT) office in Belgium.
