Police busted a gang involved in the forging of credit and debit cards, the Chief Directorate for Combating Organised Crime said.
Police arrested two men at Sofia Airport and found 10 credit cards hidden in their luggage, Focus news agency reported. Sofia and Stara Zagora policemen detained another nine people involved in the gang. Police wanted two more men and one woman.
The gang forged bank cards in Bulgaria and distributed them abroad. Bank cards contained data that belonged to foreign citizens.
Gang members installed a device on the ATM machines' slots that copied the data when a card was introduced, Focus said.
Police found 113 forged credit cards, as well as fake driving licenses, recording devices and computers during 15 house searches in Sofia and Stara Zagora.
Two men from Stara Zagora aged 36 and 30 were the gang's leaders. Most of the detained had previous criminal records, Focus said.
