BAD WEATHER CAUSES TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS IN BULGARIA
17:08 Fri 22 Sep 2006

Rainfall and bad weather led to a number of traffic accidents throughout the country.

Six people were injured because of accidents on the Sofia-Varna road, close to Vitinya pass, Focus news agency reported.

One serious accident and several less grave ones occurred in the region. A truck hit four cars. Because of fuel spill traffic through the region had to stop until emergency teams dealt with the consequences.

The accident caused traffic jams but cars passage was renewed once the emergency works ended, Focus reported.

Two people died in a traffic accident in the Rousse region on the morning of September 22. Five more passengers were injured and taken to hospital.

Most of the accidents were caused by the bad weather conditions and irresponsible driving, Focus said.
