Bulgaria will support any internationally accepted decision on the status of Kosovo, considering the position of the EU and UN Security Council, Prime Minister Stanishev said.
Stanishev is visiting Serbian Belgrade and Kosovo's Pristina. There, he met his Serbian counterpart Vojislav Kostunica and Serbian president Boris Tadic, Focus news agency reported.
Bulgaria will be an important factor in the international efforts to decide on Kosovo's status, Stanishev said. The country is the most interested one in keeping the stability in the region, he said.
Serbia needed to set up a new democratic government to speed up its European integration processes, Stanishev said.
At the same time the viability of the country’s EU integration was going to aid domestic reforms, Stanishev said.
President of Socialist International (SI) Georgios Papandreou also joined the talks. Serbia and the rest of the Balkan countries should deepen the EU integration processes, SI said.
