The average annual income in Bulgaria for 2006 reached 4255 leva, data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) shows.
Averages within the public sector reached 5265 leva, while the level for the private sector is 3804 leva.
Finance is the sector producing the higher incomes. Financial mediation specialists received an annual average income of 9951 leva. Electricity production and distribution is the second most highly paid sector where the average income reached 7537 leva.
The top two economic sectors are followed by state administration and social security.
Employees of the hospitality sector received on the average lowest income. There, the average is 2757 leva, Bulgarian National Radio reported.
NSI reported that people working within the public sector are 673 364 and those employed in the private sector reached 1.534 million.
