US aluminum company Alcoa Inc. opened a packing products plant in Bulgarias town of Stara Zagora, Reuters news agency reported.
Alcoa would produce household wrapping products in Bulgaria under the brands of Reynolds and Baco. The production would be exported to Europe and the Middle East, Reuters said.
The company invested $ 30 million in its Bulgarian plant, Reuters said.
"We are very proud that our entire construction effort has been carried out by local contractors and are looking forward to continue building our relationships with the local community in the years to come," managing director of Baco Consumer Products and Alcoa Packaging Bulgaria James Debney said as quoted by industryweek.com.
The plant would create more than 200 work places.
The company was the world's biggest aluminum producer, Reuters said. Bulgaria was the 44th country where the company opened a unit.
