Internationally-acknowledged jazz performer Al Jarreau will have a concert in Sofia on June 1.

The concert will take place in the National Palace of Culture, Darik Radio reported.

Concert organisers plan a special promotion until the end of the month. All tickets will cost 30 leva and in June ticket prices will vary according to location in the hall. 

Al Jarreau is the winner of five Grammy awards in three different categories including jazz, pop and R&B.

The son of a preacher, Al Jerreau got initially involved with music in the church choir. Later, in Los Angeles he performed in some of the most prestigious night clubs.

Al Jerreau signed his first contract with Reprise music company in 1975. His first album We Got By became very popular.

In the same year he received a Grammy award in Germany for best new international solo act. His second album, Glow, also brought Al Jerreau a Grammy award and international fame.
