On June 29, the airport in the coastal city of Bourgas officially opened its new departure terminal.
The project is part of the investment programme of concessionaire Fraport Twin Star Airport Management.
Transport Minister Petar Moutafchiev attended the ceremony.
The terminal is connected to the existing departure terminal but features additional facilities and can service large types of aircraft having more than 250 passengers.
Equipment capacity enables the simultaneous management of thee flights. The new terminal increases the traffic capacity of the Bourgas airport by 40 per cent.
Investment in the project reached seven million leva.
In 2006, Bourgas airport expects to see passenger traffic exceeding two million people. This traffic will be almost 10 per cent higher than figures for the previous year.
