Bulgarian government approved additional money for the raise of education system employees' average gross salary as from November 1 2007, a media statement by the Council of Ministers said on November 15.
The approved governmental decree would grant an additional 5.25 million leva from the central budget so that the average gross salary in education could reach 524 leva for pedagogical staff and 283 leva for non pedagogical as of November 1 2007.
The money would come from savings on 2007 expenditures to finance national programmes for high school education development.
The governmental decree was issued in relation to the realisation of the engagement that Bulgaria's government undertook to raise the income of those working in the system of high school education.
The total amount of the necessary funds was about 24.5 million leva.
